Why is it important to have your boiler serviced regularly?
Regular boiler maintenance is much more than just a legal requirement: it’s essential for ensuring your safety, saving energy, and extending the life of your equipment.
Savings on your bill
A well-maintained boiler operates at peak efficiency and consumes up to 10–15% less energy. An annual inspection helps detect minor issues before they turn into costly breakdowns.
Reduced risk of breakdowns and carbon monoxide poisoning
A poorly maintained boiler can release carbon monoxide, an odorless and dangerous gas. Regular maintenance helps prevent this risk and ensures worry-free heating.
A legal requirement
In Belgium, boiler maintenance is mandatory and must be performed by a certified professional. Failure to comply with this rule can result in fines and a denial of coverage by your home insurance in the event of a claim.
When should maintenance be performed?
- Gas boiler: every 2 years or as specified in the lease agreement
- Oil, wood, or pellet boiler: every year
- Don’t let winter catch you off guard: schedule your maintenance to avoid unpleasant surprises and enjoy efficient, cost-effective heating.
